He is an Associate Professor, School of Science and Technology, Department of Food Technology and Innovation, University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Bangkok, Thailand. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry under the supervision of Professor Keith Brocklehurst from Queen Mary, University of London, UK in 1996. In 1998, 2000, and 2002, he was awarded a visiting fellowship from the Royal Society, the UK Academy of Science, and he has been the recipient of various awards over his research career including the Research Excellence Award. His major research area is on computational biology of three-dimensional structure and mechanism of cysteine proteinases. A new direction for the research is involved with novel enzymology for application use in foods and beverages. He serves the scientific community as Chairman of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Section, Science Society of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King. He is working as an Editorial board member, reviewer and program committee member for major journals and conferences in the area of Biochemistry and Computational Biology.
